Three things to know
- The astronomical phase has a published instant; your local date can differ.
- The ritual’s meaning is symbolic and chosen by you.
- One specific action is more useful than a long list of wishes.
A real phase. A personal meaning.
At new moon, the Moon is near the Sun’s direction in our sky and its sunlit side mostly faces away from Earth. The phase is an astronomical event. Using it for intention-setting is a personal spiritual practice; lunar timing does not establish that a wish will come true.
Prepare less than you think.
Choose a comfortable place and something to write with. You do not need a kit, a perfect room or the exact astronomical minute. If a group is joining, agree on a time zone and let everyone choose how much they share. Private intentions can stay private.
Carry the beginning into tomorrow.
Choose an action small enough to attempt in ordinary life. Pair it with a familiar moment, such as after breakfast. At the next check-in, discuss what you tried, not who manifested the most. Someone can participate quietly and still belong.
A simple new-moon beginning.
Pause and notice one thing you would like to make space for.
Write an intention and one small action within your control.
Choose when you will try it and when you will check back in.
