Three things to know
- Your birth chart uses a date, local time and place.
- An unknown birth time cannot establish a reliable Rising sign or houses.
- A symbolic interpretation is something to explore, not a fixed identity.
Begin with the details, not a label.
A birth chart maps positions in the sky for a particular moment and location. Enter the local clock time recorded at your birthplace. A historical time zone matters; an abbreviation such as EST can be ambiguous. Mystic resolves the selected place and time zone. Check those details before interpreting a result.
Three useful questions.
Astrologers often use the Sun to explore identity and direction, the Moon for emotional patterns, and the Ascendant, or Rising sign, for how someone meets the world. These are symbolic traditions. Ask what fits your experience and what does not, rather than treating a description as a verdict.
Accuracy includes knowing what is unknown.
If your birth time is uncertain, choose the unknown-time option. Do not invent a time to produce a Rising sign. House systems also differ: Placidus uses unequal houses, while other systems divide the chart differently. Compare readings using the same birth details, zodiac and house system.
Read yourself before reading the chart.
Write one quality you recognize in yourself without consulting a sign description.
Read one chart theme. Note a real example that supports it and one that does not.
